And it’s not as if it’s just a matter of opinion for some either – Woolacombe Beach was recently . What’s more, it’s also appeared in a variety of world-renowned publications including, and The Daily Mail, having been singled out as one of the very best family beaches in the whole world.

Which prompts the obvious question – why?

Well, for one thing Woolacombe Beach is blessed with mile after mile of soft golden sand, along with sublime swimming and surfing opportunities that are suitable for kids and adults at all levels.

There’s a huge resident contingency of rock pools to explore when the tides are right, the natural scenery on all sides is quite frankly breath-taking and even in the midst of the summer when things are at their busiest, you’ll still easily find plenty of space for you and the kids to relax.

Of course, local authorities are fiercely proud and protective of their glorious assets so it’s no surprise that the beach is kept spotlessly clean. In fact, the only sore point ever mentioned by those visiting the place is that the car park just behind the beach is borderline extortionate.

It’s all for a worthy cause of course, but for the sake of saving every penny for maximum family fun, the best advice is to make sure you and the kids stay somewhere close enough to the sands to never have to bother with the car at all.
