Adventure Sports & Activities in America
America is a fantastic destination for lovers of adventure sports. The many different landscapes and varied terrain provide the perfect settings for thrilling sports on land and in water, and there are exciting air-borne challenges for visiting adrenalin seekers as well.
There are plenty of activity and adventure holidays and tours that provide travellers with extreme sports to suit even the most daring adrenalin-seekers. Trips can be tailored to suit fitness levels and budgets, and range from horse riding in the Wild West to rafting the Grand Canyon. Travellers who prefer to make their own way around America will also find plenty of adventure sport businesses providing the chance to take part in exhilarating activities.

Diving
North America is rated as one of the world’s top diving destinations, and great dive sites can be found all over the continent. Head to Florida where the Blue Grotto provides underwater thrills with depths of up to 100 feet. This is the biggest clear-water cave in Florida and can be explored by all standards of divers. For those who fancy a wreck diving challenge, the USS Oriskany in Pensacola is dive-friendly and suitable for experienced recreational divers, while Whytecliffe Marine Park offers a variety of unusual marine animals, including the giant Pacific octopus.
White Water Rafting
South America is a top destination for white-water rafting opportunities, with the melting snow from the Andes Mountains creating fast-flowing rivers that are perfect for rafting adventures. Argentina contains many white-water experiences, with the Alumine River offering challenges suitable for all levels of rafters, while the Hua-Hum River provides some of the most beautiful scenery in the world as well as exhilarating rafting challenges.
Skiing
America provides some of the world’s best skiing opportunities but when the snow melts, the mountain bikers get the chance to try out some of the best biking terrain in the world. Mt. Bachelor in Oregon offers hundreds of miles of single-track trails that are marked for bikers’ convenience, while Fisher Creek in Idaho is home to the Fisher Creek Loop, one of the best cross-country descents in the world.
