Travel Restrictions While On Probation

More possible trouble for Chris Brown.

The R&B singer failed a drug test—testing positive for marijuana—causing a Los Angeles judge on Monday to schedule a November hearing to decide whether he violated his probation stemming from a 2009 assault on his girlfriend Rihanna.

According to a probation report presented in court, the 23-year-old vocalist tested positive in June in Virginia, where he is fulfilling his community service. In Virginia marijuana is illegal.

It is indicated in the report that Brown told his probation officer that he smoked marijuana in California and it apparently hadn’t left his system before his test in Virginia.

Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg said mandatory drug testing was not a condition of Brown’s probation; however she did set a Nov. 1 hearing to decide whether he had violated his probation on that and other matters, which include travel restrictions and fulfillment of his community service.

The report alleges that Brown has 121 hours of community service left to complete as of August 15.

Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, said his client had “completed all of his community service.”

The judge also reminded the star of the film “Takers” that despite his troubles, he was a role model.

“You are not an ordinary person who can sit in your living room and do whatever you want to do, ” Schnegg told the Brown. “More importantly, a lot of people look up to you, a lot of kids. What you do and what you say impacts a lot of people.”

Brown recently made headlines for a neck tattoo that based off of a Mexican-themed skull in commemoration of Dia de los Muertos. Skeptics felt the image looked like the photo of Rihanna’s battered face after their 2009 incident.
